EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma from an accredited
high school or hold a GED is required.. Three years of
full-time,wage-earning experience in general clerical/secretarial job
duties is required. Must type
45 net words per minute on the appropriate five minute timed typing
test administered by the Texas Workforce Commission or TDCJ typing test
as outlined below. A minimum of 55 net words per minute is
preferred. Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly
and concisely is required. Ability to use word processing or
spreadsheet software is preferred.
TYPING SKILLS: Must type 45 net words per minute with no more
than ten (10) errors. Verifiable typing score must be submitted
with the application packet by the application deadline. All
applicants must have a typing test administered by the Texas Workforce
Commission or the Institutional Division by a TDCJ unit or department
personnel representative.
PARTIAL SUMMARY OF THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive all designated incoming calls for the WSD Administration
complex, respond to requests for information and/or route to
appropriate staff or department. Assist in all aspects of
processing, updating, and filing employment applications.
Maintain calender, arrange travel, and maintain inventory and
coordinate ordering of documents and supplies needed for the
application process. Prepare stock and open requisitions, accept
delivery of office supplies and equipment and maintain inventory of
supplies and equipment for the department. Prepare, edit,
reconcile discrepancies in and review for accuracy and completeness
reports, travel vouchers, requisitions, records, correspondence and
other related forms. Process the daily receipt and verification
of mail and distribute to appropriate staff/department in a timely
manner.
