Teachers: WSD WANTS YOU To join its new Summer School program!
Windham School District is expanding educational opportunities for TDCJ offenders during Summer Break 2016, and teaching positions are currently available. New summer school classes will focus on additional certifications, jobs, parenting, and life skills -- all designed to assist WSD students in obtaining and maintaining employment.
WSD is offering this opportunity to its teaching staff, other WSD staff, and certified outside applicants. Applicants may work an extra one, two or three weeks during summer 2016.
Summer school dates:
- July 5-8, 2016
- July 11-15, 2016
- July 18-22, 2016
Course offerings include:
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
- Career Planning
- Workplace Skills
- Financial Literacy
- Other possible courses
"We are excited about the additional opportunities available this summer," Henderson said. "These classes will provide students with skills they can use upon release to help in the job search, interviewing and employment, as well as strengthening their reentry back into family and society."
