Livingston graduation ceremony: Rep. James White joins WSD in marking success

Two special guests celebrated academic achievement during a recent WSD graduation ceremony at the Polunsky Unit in Livingston, Texas. Representative James White was in attendance to offer personal congratulations and present each graduate with a certificate of achievement. WSD North Texas Regional Administrator Michael White served as commencement speaker, and his comments praised and encouraged students receiving their Texas High School Equivalency Certificates (HSEC).

"We were very happy to have both of our guests make this event exciting for the graduates and their families," WSD teacher Betty Lewing said. "The Polunsky Unit is especially thankful for Representative White and his constant support of graduation ceremonies. We always try to make commencement a special event because our students work so hard to get to this day."

The next graduation ceremony for the Polunsky Unit will be held Aug. 13, 2016. WSD schools throughout the state are also holding similar events.
