The Windham School District was founded in 1969 by the Texas State Legislature to provide educational programming for offenders in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The adopted goals of the Windham School District are:

• To reduce recidivism.
• To reduce the cost of confinement or imprisonment.
• To increase the success of former offenders in obtaining and maintaining employment.
• To provide an incentive to offenders to behave in positive ways during confinement or imprisonment.

We are committed to meeting these goals while continuing a long tradition of providing quality education to offenders. At the same time, we are committed to improving the quality of programs offered to our students. I'm proud to be the superintendent of the Windham School District and welcome inquiries about our programs and services.
