PACT ConferenceThe George J. Beto Criminal Justice Center on the campus of  Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, will once again host the biannual PACT (Public Awareness-Corrections Today) conference on Oct. 21, 2017. The Ombudsman Office of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) coordinates the conference. The Windham School District will provide an information booth and Conference presentations.

The daylong conference will begin at 8 a.m. with registration followed by various presentations from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Presentations are given by representatives of several divisions of the agency, with talks on parole, incarceration, rehabilitation programs and health care historically being the most popular with the public. Conference participants may also pick up materials describing the function and organization of the agency in general.
