This tour focused on WSD instructors meeting with KOS on-site training staff and seeing industry training standards and requirements. KOS Senior Welding Process Engineer, Richard Marslender, escorted the facilities tour.

The KOS instruction staff discussed all of the classroom training and hands-on application that each of their students are required to attend and pass. The students WSD produces with vocational-specific skills are highly sought after by companies such as KOS. Possessing soft skills to navigate the workplace and knowledge of construction math is highly emphasized by employers.

KOS expressed that WSD students will have the opportunity to fill vacant job positions when they are released.

WSD students seeking employment with any KOS location are encouraged and invited to use WSD Workforce Department resources for employment assistance.
