Programs & Services

The Windham School District (Windham) provides appropriate educational programming and services to meet the needs of the eligible student population within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).  Enrollment priority in Windham programs is prioritized based on factors identified on each student’s Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP).

Academic, career and technical education (CTE), and life skills programs are offered at multiple campuses across the state.  The goal of all classes is to equip students with the tools and knowledge necessary to be successful during their time with TDCJ and upon reentry into their communities.

Programs & Services

Windham educators teach students by combining real-world contexts and workplace skills. Teachers create lessons that address each different learning style within the student population.  All programs emphasize workplace skills such as tolerance, teamwork and problem solving.

Preparing For Success

Through the district’s robust program opportunities and dedicated staff, Windham students are equipped to be contributing members of their families, workforce and society. Windham courses are designed to provide students with the cognitive and soft skills needed to promote positive attitudes, healthy mindsets and the ability to create successful futures as they move forward. In addition, career and technical education courses prepare students for a productive career in the workforce through thorough curriculum and hands-on instruction. The district receives feedback from employers regarding updated industry standards and information in order to ensure district programs are aligned with industry demands.
